🌹Rose: An Ancient Beauty Ingredient that has Withstood the Test of Time🕰
Roses are red, violets are blue, I use rose water on my face and so should you! The usage of rose and rose water in beauty and skincare dates back for centuries where it was thought to have originated in Asia and the Middle East. Mostly associated with beauty and femininity, rose water, rose oil and rose extract, are all very common and popular ingredients in today’s beauty landscape.

In Ancient Egypt, roses were boiled down to create healing balms and oils to protect against the harsh desert wind. In 10th century Persia, steam distilled rose petals created rose oil which was used for perfumes and medical ointments for the wealthy. Fast forward a handful of centuries later, rose water becomes such a commodity that it is even considered as legal tender. Imagine buying your Starbucks coffee with a bottle of rose water! Amazing!

Rose water and rose extract have a multitude of benefits. Rose water is full of antioxidants, which help prevent damage to our skin barrier. It is also a natural anti-inflammatory, so it's great for those with skin issues such as eczema and rosacea. Rose water is an anti-microbial and great for targeting acne causing bacteria on the skin. And last but not least, rose water is full of hydrating benefits to soften your skin revealing a more youthful appearance.

The Rose & Hyaluronic Acid Deep Hydration Toner by Fresh is one of those popular rose products that has been a staple of many skincare routines. It retails for around $45 and is an alcohol-free toner meant to deeply hydrate, soften the look of pores and helps calm and soothe tired skin. Glowish Influencer Chloe Johal is intrigued by the hype of the Rose & Hyaluronic Acid Deep Hydration Toner and hopes it will help with her skin dryness and dullness. Her main skin goal is achieving that dewy skin look. After a two-week trial of reviewing the product, the influencer is not so impressed rating it a 3 out of 5 stars. She claims it’s a nice product, but not worth the money as it didn’t do much for her complexion.

“It’s not the most amazing product so…

but I have to say it makes me feel pretty refreshed and good… it makes my skin a little bit more glowy…

but I wouldn’t say there is that much of a change."
